5 Resources for Free Fonts

If you’re a font addict, odds are your wallet could use a break from time to time. I don’t know about you, but constantly purchasing new fonts can get pricey! Luckily, there are a variety of places where you can download quality fonts for free.

Google Fonts

Google Fonts is perhaps one of the most popular free font resources. It’s for a good reason too. Not only can you download the fonts, but they make it easy to use fonts on your website. Can’t get much easier than that.

Font Squirrel

Similar to Google Fonts, Font Squirrel offers a wide variety of fonts that can be used commercially, many of which also have webfont options.

Dafont

While Dafont has a huge selection of free fonts, you’ll have to do some weeding. In my opinion, some of the fonts featured just aren’t quality. You’ll also have to keep an eye out for licenses — many are personal use only and either cannot be used commercially or require a donation to be used in that space. Still, there are gems to be found.

Dribbble

In case you’ve never heard of Dribbble, it’s a place where designers can show off their work. Sometimes, they’re even nice enough and make their work available as a free download! A quick search for free fonts turns up a bunch of gorgeous fonts. You can also check out the free font tag for even more.

Behance

Like Dribbble, Behance is a place to show off work, so you have to do some wading to find fonts, but they’re there. Typing free font in the search bar provides you with a bunch of beautiful and unique fonts. There are also collections, such as this one, that make finding free fonts easier.
